HHRMU

Healthcare Human Resource Management University
Healthcare Human Resource Management University (HHRMU) offers an 11 course program which leads to a professional certification by Healthcare Human Resource Management Association(HHRMA) and the Healthcare Education Resource Center(HERC). Designed to increase the knowledge, skill level and competencies of human resources professionals, the program covers all key human resources functional areas and helps attendees become more effective and successful in their healthcare human resources roles. The program incorporates interactive "hands-on" programming and is taught by expert human resources practitioners and consultants with a focus on California labor laws.

The Program, History and Philosophy
The concept for the HHRMU and the Professional Certificate program is a consequence of the HHRMA Professional Institute, which was founded in 1985. The Institute's original purpose was to provide high quality, college level, Practitioner-taught education to HHRMA members at low cost. The Professional Institute courses were evening sessions held weekly for 8-10 weeks. Programs were offered on a periodic basis. Under the HHRMU format, Certificate programs are one to two full days, monthly or bimonthly.

The Certificate
The certificate can be completed in 15 months. Programs will be scheduled   every 1-2 months. All courses must be completed in a 3-year period in order to be eligible for the certificate. After individuals succesfully complete all required courses, they submit their course completion records to HHRMA to obtain professional certification.

Who Should Attend
The program is designed to certify managers and supervisors within healthcare human resources departments in individual facilities or centralized corporate settings. Each course in the certificate program will be offered and may be attended on an individual basis by any human resources professional or other department supervisor who would like a "refresher" or is interested in the topic. Additional program sessions will be added from time to time which are hot topics or advanced concepts in human resources management. These special programs will be offered as HHRMU elective courses.
