History

Founded in 1959 as the California Hospital Personnel Management Association, an amalgamation of the pre-existing Bay Area Personnel Association and of the Hospital Personnel Management Association of Southern California, the Healthcare Human Resources Management Association of California (HHRMAC) is one of the oldest and largest associations for healthcare Human Resources professionals in the country. The state membership exceeds 500 healthcare Human Resources professionals. HHRMAC is an affiliate of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration and the California Hospital Association.

To advance the profession of Human Resources management in healthcare through unified leadership, professional development and public policy advocacy.

Vision Statement

HHRMAC will achieve recognition as a leading healthcare professional association in California. We will provide extensive and on-going professional development opportunities, demonstrate significant influence in legislative matters regarding healthcare Human Resource issues. and expand membership to include Human Resources professionals representing all types of healthcare providers throughout California.

Organization Structure and Development

An area organization statewide, HHRMAC is divided in eight divisions including: Bay Area, Central Valley, North State, Redwood Empire, Sacramento, San Joaquin, San Diego and Southern California.

Each fall HHRMAC holds its annual institute, the location of which rotates between the northern and southern portions of the state. The institute is educational and features presenters of national reputation as well as programs devised and presented by our own membership. The social aspects of the institute help in fostering an active and cooperative network of Human Resource professionals across the state.

Each of our divisions plans its own series of meetings and seminars throughout the year and communicates with other divisions on matters of regional interest.
